SK26 Vixen’s Shielding Vow

Original A3 sketch on thick textured paper completed with Faber castel polychromos colour pencils.  Done to a highly detailed scale.  One of my more recent works.  I’m often drawn to images of foxes where their pose attracts in the way you want to know what her day has entailed.  Where she has been.  Foxes can be quite mysterious and I wanted to spark intrigue.  It is a beautiful thing to see an animal in its natural habitat and observe how they behave.  I love the story that i’ve captured in this piece.  The beauty of a mother and her baby, resting from the day’s adventures but still the mother is always protecting and alert.
