Materials and understanding which materials to use to achieve certain art works is another hurdle beginners can stumble at. But you will find that starting with the basics is all you need. once you develope your artistic voice and learn more, you will develope your own material list to suit your abilities and preferences. For a simple tutorial like this, all you need is an HB pencil, and eraser (preferably a putty rubber), blending tool but a simple cotton bud will do for this task and a white pastel pencil or white colour pencil for the highlights. I use a Mono zero eraser pen which is great for detail erasing but if you do not have this, do not worry.
